Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglu has admitted Son Heung-min was one of the reasons he chose not to sign Harry Kane’s replacement. Report from ยูฟ่าเบท
Son was deployed as a striker and he exploded with a hat-trick as Spurs beat Burnley 5-2 on Saturday.
“One of the reasons we didn’t buy a striker was Sonny, whether he played in the middle or wide. He has all the qualities to play in any system,” Postecoglou said.
“I have a picture in my head of what I want the team to look like and we are building it. There are still many things to do.”
Spurs have signed versatile forward Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest on deadline day.
Postecoglou added of the 22-year-old: “He is young and ambitious and that is an example for me wherever I go. He will get along with us. He is always hungry and wants to improve.”
